The Lost Marchetti

Available in ebook, paperback & audiobook

Some paintings are worth killing for.

Gabriel Reyes came to the secluded estate of Ashcombe Hall with a single objective: authenticate a newly surfaced masterpiece. But by morning, the estate’s owner is dead — and Gabriel, the last person seen arguing with him, stands at the top of the suspect list.

As a torrential storm floods the causeway, isolating Ashcombe Hall from the mainland, Gabriel finds himself trapped alongside a house full of heirs, rivals, and secretive staff. Each holds a motive, and none are telling the whole truth.

With the local authorities unable to reach the island and five days before the waters recede, Gabriel must use his keen restorer’s eye to uncover the secrets layered beneath the canvas — before the killer strikes again to keep them hidden.

A tense, atmospheric mystery of art, obsession, and deadly secrets — perfect for fans of classic locked-room whodunits.

About the author

Grant Sable

Grant Sable is a working fine artist whose graduate studies included training in art restoration — an experience that left him fascinated by everything a painting can hide: a forged signature, a false provenance, a fortune quietly changing hands.

He writes mysteries set in the art world: murder, forgery, and theft amid the closed, high-stakes business of collecting, where the truth is often worth more than the art itself.

The Lost Marchetti is his debut novel.
